Vegan Tapas Takeover Vegas

Vegan Tapas in Las Vegas

Ok, try saying that 3 times fast. But seriously, who knows if the Spaniards had all these vegetables in mind when they invented the tapa, but we’ve taken our tapas to a whole other level.  We wanted to make sure people looking for vegan Tapas in Las Vegas experienced the creativity and uniqueness that is on our regular menu.

As the demand for more vegetarian and vegan options grows, we wanted to incorporate that into our menu. There are a lot of restaurants in town where you can get store-bought, reheated vegan food. We wanted to be innovative and showcase a veg menu that reflects the creativity and love that’s on our regular menu. In fact, many of these dishes are just twists on our already popular menu items.

Executive Chef/Owner John Simmons didn’t take the challenge lightly either, he put together a vegetarian menu with more than 30 items. Most of which can be made vegan. How many restaurants, let alone tapas restaurants, can boast that many veggie tapas?

What is a tapa?

A tapa is an appetizer or snack in Spanish cuisine and translates to a small portion of any kind. Tapa may be cold or hot. In some bars and restaurants in Spain and across the globe, tapas have evolved into a more sophisticated cuisine. Tapas can be combined to make a full meal.

So, where did tapas come from? One of the most popular stories claims that, back in the 13th century, King Alfonso X of Castille found that, while he was recuperating from an illness, he could only eat and drink in small amounts – resulting in one of the first forms of tapas. His Majesty thought this was marvelous and, on his recovery, decreed that all drinks should be served with a small snack.

The Menu

As we said, this menu is pretty in-depth. Some of the standouts include hearts of palm “crab cakes” and Roasted Heirloom Carrots with mango-apple cider BBQ. There are also some traditional tapas like patatas bravas, gazpacho, and tomato bread.

There are a few ways you can dine. Come in for Happy Hour and enjoy a few at a time, or come hungry and order the whole menu. No matter how you choose to enjoy or veg menu, tapas are always enjoyed best with friends.

Let us know in the comments which veggie tapas are your favorites. Or, tell us which tapa you would love to see on our menu next.
